A man who led police on a vehicle pursuit was taken into custody Tuesday night. Metro Police said it all started when officers were dispatched to an area in reference to a stolen vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle in an apartment complex, but as they approached, the driver and the passenger in the car fled the area.

As they were trying to get away, the suspect’s vehicle struck a marked police vehicle and fled southbound on Las Vegas Blvd. Metro’s air unit began following the car southbound. It eventually got onto I-15 towards Jean.

Before Jean the vehicle pulled over and attempted to carjack another vehicle. This was unsuccessful, and the vehicle began traveling back north towards the Las Vegas valley.

The air unit continued to follow it. The vehicle was then stopped by police at St. Rose and Bermuda.

There weren’t any injuries reported, but police are still looking to speak with the victim of the attempted car jacking that occurred.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Police.
