Donations made to help autisic children in Las Vegas valley

Local News

Autism awareness was front and center Tuesday in the Las Vegas valley.

Touro University Nevada held a ceremony inside the Center for Autism.

Several donations were made to local families dealing with autism, or another developmental disability. Donors expressed how proud they are to help families affected by autism.

“There’s over 7,000 children who are diagnosed on the spectrum here in the valley, but the services are all here at Touro. So, making sure that they can hire the newest psychologists who just came on board and making sure they can have early intervention and treatment for these families is just key to being not only a compassionate city but to be a huge difference in these children’s lives and futures,” said Jan Jones-Blackhurst, Caesars Entertainment.

The money will also go towards grant money. All families affected by autism can apply for a grant.
