The super-thin contest between Republican Assemblyman Keith Pickard and newcomer Julie Pazina for the State Senate District 20 seat was one of the closest races decided in last week’s election.
Right now, just 24 votes separate the winner, Pickard from his Democratic rival, who has said she intends to ask for a recount of the ballots Wednesday after the county certifies the results of the election at a special meeting called just for that purpose.
