LAS VEGAS (KLAS) –– The Clark County Coroner identified Eric Ropeti Tia, 24, as the man stabbed to death at a pool party in the southwest Valley on July 22. His death was ruled a homicide, caused by a stab wound of the chest.

The incident occurred in the 4800 block of West Richmar Avenue. Officers arrived around 10:49 p.m. and found Tia suffering from multiple stab wounds in the backyard of a residence.

Medical services transported him to UMC Trauma, where he was pronounced dead.

According to detectives, the residence, located near Decatur and Silverado Ranch boulevards, was a short-term rental home hosting a two-day pool party. It rented through the popular short-term rental site VRBO.

The investigation revealed a fight broke out, and Tia was stabbed multiple times by an unidentified Hispanic male. The suspect fled before officers arrived.

Detectives say more than 200 people were attending the party.
