LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Nevada Highway Patrol have released new information involving a deadly and fiery crash involving a motorcyclist and a tractor-trailer on Blue Diamond Road eastbound, east of Rainbow Road.

The incident happened on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at approximately 8:40 p.m. when a blue freightliner tractor trailer was traveling northbound on Blue Diamond south of Torrey Pines.

According to NHP, the tractor trailer made a left turn (southbound) onto Torrey Pines.

As the tractor-trailer was clearing the intersection an unknown color Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling at a
high rate of speed causing the front of the motorcycle to go head-on with the right rear of the tractor-trailer.

The rider on the motorcycle now identified as 32-year-old Arman Amjad from Las Vegas, was ejected on impact.

Amjad, as well as the motorcycle, traveled underneath the trailer.

The bike was redirected into the northbound travel lanes on Blue Diamond where it struck the
curb resulting in it becoming engulfed in flames.

According to the release, Amjad came to rest at the intersection of Blue Diamond and Torrey Pines on the
southbound side.

He succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

This makes NHP Southern Command’s 65th fatal crash resulting in 73 fatalities for 2021.
