LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Monday morning crash in North Las Vegas left one woman dead and a man hospitalized.

Around 4:50 a.m., troopers with Nevada State police responded to a crash at the intersection of Aliante Parkway and the 215.

According to NSP, an Acura MDX was driving southbound on Aliante Parkway at the same time as a Chevrolet Silverado driving northbound.

The crash occurred when the Acura failed to obey a red light and entered the intersection while the Chevrolet was making a left turn on a green light, according to NSP.

The front of the Acura crashed into the side of the Chevrolet, causing both vehicles to spin.

The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The driver of the Acura, identified as 62-year-old Toni Elizabeth De Vera of North Las Vegas, was not wearing a seat belt and taken to University Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.

This crash marks NSP Southern Command’s 49th fatal crash for 2023, totaling 58 fatalities.
