“It’s very sad that somebody would actually think about doing that to a baby. I could never imagine somebody doing that to a 3-year-old, especially. It’s just — that kills me,” said Miranda Wortham.
Theriot says he’s having a hard time getting a hold of Child Protective Services and no one has reached out to him.
He says his son Daniel will always be remembered as loving and compassionate and he wants Cassie Smith and Joshua Oxford to spend the rest of their lives in prison.
They are expected to be charged in the boy’s death.
Wortham lives down the road from Theriot in Liberty, Texas. she didn’t know the know the young victim but wants to help the family.
“He got called and was upset about it and he had no one to turn to so he came to my mom and my family, here to us and was explaining to us what was going on. We tried to help him the best we can,” Wortham said.
Wortham helped Theriot set up a GoFundMe account to help him financially
“All I can do for him right now is be there for him because there’s really nothing I can’t actually do besides help as much as I can,” she said. “He’s very upset about what happened.”
