Crash on I-15 near Primm injures 8 people including 3 children

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Southbound Interstate 15 was backed up for hours Monday near Primm as authorities investigated a three vehicle crash.

At one point, police closed all southbound lanes while a helicopter landed on the highway and transported the driver of one of the vehicles.

According to State Police, a semi-truck rear-ended a Dodge Ram causing the Ram to rear-end a Bentley SUV.

There were five people in the Ram, one child and four adults. The child and three adults were taken to UMC Trauma with moderate non life threatening injuries. The adult driver was airlifted by helicopter.

There were four people in the Bentley SUV, three children and one adult. The adult driver and two children were also take to UMC Trauma with moderate non life threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was not injured. Police do not suspect the truck driver was impaired but are not saying what led to the crash.
