Local News

The Clark County Coroner’s office said 66-year-old Rizal Capinpin Benjamin was the person killed in a seven-car crash on Tropicana Avenue near Eastern Avenue Sunday morning.

The driver accused of causing the deadly wreck has been identified as 35-year-old Lonnie Isabell who’s facing several charges of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm and vehicular homicide.

According to police, Isabell, who was driving a Mercury Montego left a parking lot at a high rate of speed and when a Clark County Park Police officer attempted to stop him, he sped off running a red light and colliding with another vehicle. Benjamin was the driver of that vehicle.

The two vehicles ended up hitting five other cars at the intersection, police said. Multiple people, including Isabell, were transported to the hospital.
