The Clark County Coroner has identified the armed man killed at the Green Valley Ranch as Shannon Michael Howell of Las Vegas.
According to the coroner, Howell, who was 53 years old, died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Howell was shot by a Green Valley Ranch security guard on Jan. 1 at the Henderson casino-resort. Henderson Police are conducting an investigation and have released very little information.
Police did say a hotel guest informed authorities that a man (Howell) was walking through the lobby carrying a gun. He was confronted by three security officers, two of them were armed. According to a witness, there was a verbal altercation before the shooting occurred.
Police say they will release more information once the investigation is completed.
