The Las Vegas valley is preparing for a storm that will likely bring snow to some areas of the valley.
“The problem with the storm is we really don’t know what’s going to happen, there’s predicitions for snow but we could wake up tomorrow and there could be nothing, or there could be 3 to 4 inches on the ground, we just don’t know,” said NHP Trooper Jason Buratczuk.
NDOT has six snow plows in the valley. Three of them at their yard near Durango Road and the 215. The agency is prepared to spread 250 tons of ice slicer on the roadways, if ice begins to form.

Be sure to check with your airline about delays if you’re flying during the storm. McCarran International Airport does not have any snowplows.
But a spokesperson says if air traffic controllers determine too much snow or ice is accumulating on the runways maintenance staff will use heavy equipment to remove it.
And the school district will confer with the Clark County Fire Department and the highway patrol early Thursday morning to determine whether or not to delay or cancel school.
The district will announce any delays or closures by 5 a.m. on their website and social media pages.
The cities and the county could also run heavy equipment on the roadways Thursday should ice or snow build up.
