Residents displaced after 2-alarm fire in southeast Las Vegas apartment complex

Local News

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — There are reports residents are displaced after a two-alarm fire in a southeast Las Vegas apartment complex Monday night. The Clark County Fire Department suppressed the fire in one of The Quinn apartments’ buildings.

The complex is located in the 5500 block of Mountain View near Russell.

Responding crews observed heavy flames from gabbled vents below the attic of the building. Some crews worked on suppressing the flames while others evacuated anyone remaining inside.

Firefighters looked for an extension of the fire into the attic but only found smoke. Authorities say a fire wall in the attic worked as designed, stopping smoke from extending.

No injuries were reported, and it is unknown how many residents are displaced.

The cause of the fire is also unknown currently. An investigation is underway.
