UPDATE: Coroner identifies pedestrian who laid down in road before being struck by vehicles on Boulder Highway

Local News

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Clark County Coroner identified Patrick William Bryan, 53, as the man who walked onto Boulder Highway and laid down before being struck and killed on June 3. His death was ruled a suicide, caused by blunt force injuries from being struck by a motor vehicle.

The incident happened about 4:40 a.m.

Metro police said two vehicles — a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Honda CRV — struck Bryan. Police did not indicate if either driver would be charged.

Emergency responders pronounced Bryan dead at the scene.

Traffic was diverted off of Boulder Highway between Dalhart Avenue (south of Sahara Avenue) and U.S. 95 while officers investigated.

The drivers were in the northbound lanes of Boulder Highway when Bryan was hit. Evidence, witnesses at the scene and video surveillance all confirmed that the pedestrian walked onto the road, police said.
