A person riding a bicycle was had to be hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle Monday.
According to Metro Police, the person was hit by an SUV at the intersection of S. Rainbow Boulevard and W. Hacienda Avenue. It happened around 8:04 a.m.
No word on what led up to the crash or how it happened, but the accident stalled morning traffic because the intersection was closed for more than two hours. The area reopened around 10:50 a.m.
The bicyclist was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition.
