A 23-year-old suspect who’s at-large, is facing an open murder charge for a fiery crash that claimed the life of a child, according to court records.

Jonathan Mora, 23, is accused of leaving his 10-year-old relative, Zion Jimenez, in a burning car when he ran away from the scene on Sept.15.

The crash happened on Mountain Vista Street near Vegas Valley Drive.  Police say a Nissan Altima with Mora driving may have been going more than 100 mph (161 kph) when it slammed into a Toyota Camry and caught fire.

Passers-by pulled Zion Jimenez and 20-year-old passenger Omar Moya-Luna from the wreckage.

Police say Moya-Luna and the 62-year-old driver of the Toyota were seriously hurt.

Jimenez was taken to the hospital with critical injuries and burns to his body.  The child passed away on Sept. 21.

Court records show Mora also is sought on multiple felony hit-and-run and reckless driving charges.

Mora is still at large, and investigators are seeking the public’s assistance to locate him.
