Local News

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Over 1,300 NV Energy customers are without power after intense storms swept across the Las Vegas valley Thursday afternoon. A majority of those affected are in the southeast valley.

The American Red Cross has opened a shelter for affected families at Parkdale Recreation Center near Desert Inn and Mountain Vista Street. The organization says COVID protocols are in place, and residents must check in with them to get assistance.

NV Energy says its crews will work through the night to restore power “safely and as quickly as possible.”

As of 11:12 p.m., the exact number is 1,387 customers.
