2-alarm fire damages motel in downtown Las Vegas, 92 people displaced

Clark County fire crews battled a 2-alarm fire at The New Hope motel in downtown Las Vegas Tuesday afternoon.

The hotel is located at 2805 Fremont Street, near Charleston Avenue. The fire started just before 4 p.m. Due to windy conditions, it took nearly 50 firefighters to bring the blaze under control. 

The motel is a shelter and recovery home for homeless people. More than 92 people have been displaced by the fire, according to the Nevada Red Cross chapter.

There is no word yet on what started the fire.
