LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A 39-year-old man died after being struck by a pickup truck Thursday night. He was transported to University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit and died shortly after arriving, police said.

The man’s identity will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.

The crash happened around 8:38 p.m. near the intersection of Nellis Boulevard and Bonanza Road. Las Vegas Metro police said a 36-year-old woman, with a 15-year-old passenger, was traveling south on Nellis when the pedestrian, who was outside of a marked crosswalk, entered the path of the Chevrolet Avalanche and was struck.

Police said the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment.

This is the 34th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction since the beginning of 2023.
