Some of these cold cases have haunted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for years. I-Team George Knapp has done stories over the years with investigators in an effort to help solve the cases and bring closure to the families of the victims.

I-Team: DNA links 2 cold cases, points to possible suspect
Two terrible crimes — separated by years — now appear to be connected, thanks to DNA evidence. One is a murder that was committed in 1998. The other is a sexual assault that occurred six years later. DNA testing now confirms that the same suspect was involved with both victims.

I-Team: Las Vegas detective focuses on missing person cases gone cold
Metro Police receive hundreds of missing persons reports each month, about half of them involving juveniles. Most of the kids return home eventually, but the few who don’t end up as cold case files.

I-Team: Cold Case Leaves Brother Looking for Answers
A $20 bag of marijuana led to the murder of a 19-year old Las Vegas man four years ago. Detectives working this cold case are hoping for new tidbits of information that might lead to an arrest.

I-Team: The death of an Elvis impersonator
A well-known Elvis tribute artist and his beauty queen girlfriend were shot and killed in what looked like a mob-style hit. Detectives have pursued several theories but have crossed them off one by one.

I-Team: Closing in on the Jamey Walker cold case
Jamey Walker was an 18-year-old beauty queen who was kidnapped from her home, held for ransom and then murdered. Investigators think they are finally closing in on a suspect. I-Team reporter George Knapp has been following this case since Walker’s murder in 1981.

I-Team: Man agrees to plea deal in 35-year-old murder case
UPDATE:
Former boxer Willie Shannon entered an Alford plea to second degree murder. Basically, he admitted there was enough evidence to find him guilty in the killing of 18-year-old Jamey Walker in May of 1981
