LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Oakey Boulevard remains closed west of I-15 due to a break in a large water pipeline Wednesday morning, according to Las Vegas Valley Water District.
Oakey is closed in both directions between Rancho and Strong drives and will remain that way until repairs are finished. The shutdown of the pipe is impacting water customers who received a notification of the incident after it happened.
“We are excavating right now in order to be able to make repairs,” Corey Enus with the water district said.
He added there is no timeline on when the repairs will be completed and described the pipe as a large-diameter pipeline.
