The late-game heroics continued for the Golden Knights in Nashville, Tennessee Friday night.

Erik Haula tied the game with 40 seconds left at 3-3 in the third period and the Knight’s Reilly Smith scored the lone shootout goal to defeat the Nashville Predators 4-3.

Goaltender Malcolm Subban was stellar again making 41 saves and stopped all six Nashville attempts in the shootout to improve his record to 7-2. Forward William Karlsson added to his team leading 15th goal of the season scoring on the powerplay in the first period.

With the Golden Knights winning their 18th game of the year, the young franchise passes the San Jose Sharks for wins in a season for an expansion team.

The Knights improve to 18-9-1 and move within four points of the first place Los Angeles Kings.

The final game of the brief road trip concludes Saturday night against the Dallas Stars.
