9 years old, and no one to call family. Can you imagine how insecure that would make you feel? Today’s Wednesday’s Child is handling it pretty well, but still deserves a permanent home. Dave Courvoisier has her story.
We’re at the Pinball Hall of Fame….but 9 year old Heavenly doesn’t really much care for pinball. Instead she gravitates towards the games that let you win cuddly things.
This fourth-grader is definitely her own person… And knows what she wants, but her case worker says everyone sees in heavenly a very considerate girl.
“You know Heavenly is a very caring young lady, um, when we first got her she was very cautious about developing a rapport with her peers and grown people, staff, she has now learn to really care for them. She is very caring,” says John, her care worker.
As young as she is, and as tough as life has been so far, heavenly still understands what an adoption means.
“It means when somebody goes somewhere to stay there forever and then after a while if the foster parent thinks that they’re right for them then they end up adopting them and signing the papers,” explains Heavenly.
“She does good, for a nine-year-old you know we have to kind of task a little deeper and make it a more simple terms but she’s prepared we always talk about the foster care,” says John.
Heavenly would need someone who could give her stability and plenty of love.
“My wish is for her that she would find a home that provides structure um she needs people to give her directive and instruction because that’s where heavenly seems to give up her demeanor,” admits John.
