‘Game of Thrones’ baby names more popular

‘Game of Thrones’ is the hottest show on television right now. It’s so popular, fans are naming their children after the characters.

According to data from the Social Security Administration, sword-swinging heroine Arya was the 119th-most popular name for girls in the U.S. last year. More than 2,500 babies were given the name.

More than 500 babies were named Khaleesi in 2018 which is the name for queen in the fictional Dothraki language. But considering what happened in the last episode, parents may be having second thoughts.

More than 500 babies were named Jaime, the Lannister with the golden hand.

Other popular ‘Game of Thrones’ names include Yara and Daenerys. Other names like Tyrion, Jorah, Sansa and Theon got a few babies named after them last year but not a lot.

A documentary on the making of the series will show on Sunday, May 26. It’s called “Game of Thrones: The Last Watch.”
