First Lady at monument ribbon cutting

WASHINGTON — First Lady Melania Trump helped reopen the Washington Monument to the public at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday. The 555-foot monument had been closed for repairs for more than three years.

She, along with a group of children, cut the ribbon in front of the entrance to the monument.

“Looking forward to helping reopen one of our many historic treasures, the Washington Monument, here in the nation’s capital next week!,” her tweet read.
