Filing your taxes for free

Tax season is approaching, and the IRS is ready to accept your returns.

If you are making under $58,000, you qualify to file your taxes for free at the Clark County Law Library.

IRS certified volunteers will file your taxes properly. On the day you visit, bring a government issued I.D., social security cards for those listed on your returns, and have all documents for itemized expenses, like education and childcare.

“Someone will come into a site and say, ‘I didn’t even know you existed.’ So they’re going to all the paid preparers, which can often by predatory preparers, and why pay to your taxes done when you can get it done for free,” said Pam Smith with the Nevada Free Taxes Coalition.

Volunteers will be on site every Thursday between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m until April 11th.
