FBI seeks victims in international sextortion case

The FBI is asking the public for help in identifying additional victims of a convicted online predator who used extortion to produce child pornography.

Lucas Michael Chansler, 31, was sentenced to 105 years in federal prison after pleading guilty on nine counts of producing child pornography. He told authorities he targeted teen girls because women were “too smart” to fall for his scheme.

Currently, 109 victims have been identified, but the FBI says Chansler, who lived in Florida, targeted around 350 victims in different states, including Nevada.

Chansler used more than 100 different screen names while sexually extorting his victims, the FBI said.

From 2007 to 2010, Chansler would engage in live video chats with the underage victims and encourage them to remove their clothing. He would record the chat session.

According to the FBI, Chansler would threaten to distribute the video if they victims did not give him additional graphic images of themselves.

Anyone who believes they were victimized by Chansler is asked to fill our a questionnaire or contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
