The Outside Las Vegas Foundation says an expansion of the Healing Garden is in the works. The foundation maintains and manages the garden near downtown Las Vegas.
Organizers say the city of Las Vegas just bought the land existing next to the space. Plans are now underway to expand the plaza to provide even more space for the community to be able to visit.
The LV Healing Garden Committee is also helping with the project and organizers say the additional space will hopefully provide an expanded experience for visitors. Mauricia Baca is the Executive Director of the Outside Las Vegas Foundation and says, “we have a large number of visitors that come to the gardens on a regular basis. We’d like to offer them some more experiences, a place where they might be able to write into a log book, maybe see a little bit more about the history of where they are visiting.”
The Outside Las Vegas Foundation says they hope the community also continues to stay involved by volunteering in future events. One project that has been planned so far takes place in the spring. Daffodils will be planted.
