Singer Elton John has canceled all of his Las Vegas performances scheduled for April and May at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace due to illness.

Elton John, 70, has been playing his Million Dollar Piano show there since 2011.

The “Rocket Man” and “Daniel” singer says in a statement that he became “violently ill” on a flight to the United Kingdom from Chile and “underwent immediate treatment” at a hospital, where he was released on Saturday.

“I am so fortunate to have the most incredible and loyal fans and apologize for disappointing them.  I am extremely grateful to the medical team for their excellence in looking after me so well,” said Elton.

Those who purchased their tickets with a credit card will be refunded to the credit card used for the purchase. Those who used cash may present tickets at the original point of sale for a refund.
