The eastbound and westbound lanes of the 215 have reopened near the Airport Connector.
The Nevada Highway Patrol closed the both sides of the highway late Friday morning due to high winds blowing debris on the road.
Construction crews worked all afternoon tirelessly on the flyover bridge to secure the wood panels, but it hasn’t been an easy feat. 8 News NOW meteorologist said they’re doing the work while battling 50 mph winds.
The wooden panels came from a temporary wooden deck that’s on top of the 215 flyover.
Initially, NHP said the lanes could remain closed for 8-12 hours, but that was lifted at 3 p.m. when both sides of the road opened up.
Although the road has reopened there is expected to be a backup for a while, so drivers should use caution when going into the area.
