Drone Racing League tryouts taking place at Luxor’s HyperX Esports Arena

News

Drone racers will crash hard in Vegas.

On Feb. 9, The Drone Racing League and Swatch will host the live-streamed 2019 Swatch DRL Tryouts, the biggest First Person View party of all-time, at the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas at the Luxor Hotel.

Since October, pilot hopefuls from around the world have been battling it out on the DRL Simulator, a drone racing simulator that makes you fly FPV better in real life, for a chance to compete in this year’s tryouts. Hundreds will go head-to-head in the live-streamed esports showdown, racing virtual maps of DRL tracks as fast as they can to earn a coveted spot in the 2019 DRL Allianz World Championship Season.

After an intense Round Robin, 12 players will challenge each other in the Semi-Finals, six of whom will make it to the Finals.

One Tryouts winner will go from gamer to drone pilot overnight, receive a professional drone racing contract for $75,000 and fly as the official Swatch pilot for the 2019 Season, which will air in more than 90 countries across the globe on leading sports networks.

The tryouts are open to the public.
