Three roommates murdered in the east valley with a suspect in custody, but questions still remain.
This incident occurred Friday afternoon near Tropicana Avenue and Mountain Vista Street with 47-year-old Christine Sanchez being charged with all three murders.
Sanchez is being held at the Clark County Detention Center and her arraignment hearing will be Wednesday morning.
8 News NOW has learned this isn’t the first time Sanchez has been in trouble with the law. In fact, she’s been accused of murder back in 2014.
The house on Del Santos Drive was quiet Tuesday afternoon and a stark contrast from Friday when three roommates were shot and killed inside.
Metro Police say officers have responded to the residence at least 10 times this year.
“There’s activity there, people in and out,” Metro Police Lt. Dan McGrath said.
Neighbors say they’re fed up and frustrated from all the problems.
“What haven’t I seen going up to that house? You’ve got drug deals, you’ve got hookers going up and down you’ve got pimps wanting to do stuff, you’ve got people burglarizing the house,” Anonymous neighbor said.
Sanchez and according to court documents, isn’t her first run-in with the law.
It’s been three years since Sanchez was arrested for shooting and killing 52-year-old Bonnie Rice. However, Sanchez was released from jail about a month after she was accused of shooting and killing Rice in 2014.
According to the Clark County District Attorney’s office, blood tests failed to link her to the murder.
In 2015, Sanchez was indicted once witnesses came forward and evidence was presented. But two years later and this past June, the case was dismissed after the district attorney’s office says it didn’t have enough evidence.
Around that time, Sanchez moved to Del Santos Drive to a home with at least four other roommates.
According to the homeowner, who didn’t want to be on camera, Sanchez had only lived at the house for about three months. He says he didn’t know her before she moved in and had no idea about her criminal past.
Now, just the homeowner remains and outside, a memorial in remembrance of one of the victims can be seen.
Sanchez is facing three counts of open murder with a deadly weapon.
As for the three victims, the Clark County Coroner has identified one victim as 43-year-old Natasha Henry.
The names of the two other men have yet to be released.
