A man is dead after being struck by a public transit bus in Las Vegas Tuesday morning.
Metro is investigating the deadly accident involving a man and RTC bus. The crash happened on north Las Vegas Blvd. near Lamb Blvd. around 2:30 a.m.
Police say the bus collided with a male pedestrian who was in the roadway. The man was transported to the hospital where he later died.
The RTC issued the following statement:
“We are deeply saddened by this morning’s fatal accident that occurred on Las Vegas Boulevard near Lamb Boulevard. We extend our condolences to the victim’s family as well as to the passengers and the driver who were aboard the bus. The RTC is committed to helping to ensure public safety, and we are working closely with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as it continues to investigate the incident.”
Police tell 8 News NOW that the bus hit a man in his 50’s who was not walking in the crosswalk.
The bus driver is cooperating with police and is not expected to be cited.
