CSN students head back to the classroom

Thousands of students headed back to the classroom at the College of Southern Nevada to begin the first day of their new semester.

There were new and returning students as well as staff members who were wearing “welcome back” shirts.

Over the next three days, the North Las Vegas campus plans to host College of Southern Nevada connections events with food, games, and information booths to get students acquainted with each another.

“I’m just getting used to the environment, the vibe and everything,” said Sergio Payan, a student.

“I’m just loving my first day of school here,” said Shila Howell. “It’s just so beautiful and I’m just really excited.”

The College of Southern Nevada is the states largest higher ed institution. It specializes in two-year degrees and workforce development that can lead directly to high-demand careers or transfer to a university.

This are three campuses across the valley. Events are being held at the Henderson and Charleston campuses later in the week.
