The Clark County Coroner’s office just released the name of the teen hit and killed by an SUV Wednesday night.
Alani Hill, 14, was struck and killed while crossing the street at Spring Mountain Road and S. Durango Drive.
According to Metro Police, a group of teens were playing at the skate park at Desert Breeze Park, when they all decided to go to the Mc Donald’s across the street. Metro Police says witnesses told them the teen crossed the street against the signal to catch up with friends, and that’s when a 2014 white Land Rover struck him.
A good Samaritan stopped and put the kids, who had just witnessed their friend get hit by the vehicle, into her car and stayed with them until police arrived at the scene.
The driver waited for police to arrive, and impairment was not a factor in the crash, Metro said.
The Clark County School District confirmed that Alani attended Sierra Vista High School.
This was the 16th fatal accident investigated in Metro’s jurisdiction.
