American comic book writer Stan Lee received a special gift in Las Vegas Friday. The former president and chairman of Marvel Comics received the key to the Las Vegas Strip.
Lee, 93, was in town for an appearance at the Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. at Treasure Island Hotel & Casino. The attraction spans more than 14,000-square-feet on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd. and Spring Mountain Road.
The first 50 fans to purchase Stan Lee’s Respect pin from the Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. retail store were invited to the intimate meet.
Lee, a Hollywood executive, co-created some of Marvel’s most recognizable characters including Spider-Man™, Iron Man™, The Incredible Hulk™, The Fantastic Four™, X-Men™, The Avengers™, Thor™, Doctor Strange™, Daredevil™ and hundreds of more fictional characters
Clark County Commissioner Larry Brown was on hand to honor Lee with the key. The county has named Nov. 18, 2016, as “Stan Lee & Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Day.”
