According to the Clark County Fire Department, one person was found dead Monday as firefighters searched an apartment that was on fire at 3665 Needles Highway.

Firefighters responded to the fire at the apartment complex around 5:44 p.m.  Authorities said it was a “high” level structural fire, so they had to send four engines, one truck, one rescue unit, and two battalion chiefs.

Upon arrival, smoke could be seen from the second floor of a two-story apartment complex. Crews made an offensive attack into apartment 64C and put out the flames.

While conducting a search of the home, one person was found dead. No other injuries were reported.

The fire didn’t spread beyond that apartment.  No one was displaced.  No word on the estimated damages.
