CCSD employees reach salary agreement for 2018-19 school year

The Clark County School District  Board of School Trustees and leaders of the Police Officer’s Association of the Clark County School District announced today they reached a tentative agreement for employee compensation for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years.

This latest settlement means that CCSD has a contract in place in the current school year with all five employee associations for the first time in years.
The agreement with the POA would provide a step increase retroactive to the 2017-19 school year, an additional step on the salary table in the 2018-19 school year, additional comp time for long-serving officers, and incentives for Peace Officer Standards and Training certifications for a total cost of approximately $450,000.
“The Police Officers’ Association of the Clark County School District would like to thank the Clark County School District Board of School Trustees, Superintendent Jara and CCSD’s negotiation committee for reaching a tentative agreement for contract years 2017-18 and 2018-19,” said POA President Matt Caldwell. “Upon ratification, this will mark the first multi-year agreement reached in over twelve years. The POA looks forward to continuing a positive working relationship with the Board of Trustees and Superintendent Jara.”
In the past few months, CCSD has announced agreements with its other four bargaining units. The contract with the Clark County Education Association has been ratified by its members and approved by Trustees. Tentative agreements with the Education Support Employees Association, the Clark County Association of School Administrators and Professional-Technical Employees, and the Police Administrator Association were announced last week and will be up for final approval by the Board of Trustees in an upcoming meeting.
