CCFD responds to fire call at the Rio

Clark County Fire confirmed to 8 News NOW that firefighters responded to a fire call at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino Wednesday evening.

Several units were called to the scene around 5 p.m. because there was smoke coming from a service elevator on the 27th floor. The floor was evacuated due to heavy water from the buildings sprinkler system.

CCFD told 8 News NOW there were no reports of injuries, but smoke was also being seen on the 28th and 29th floors, which were not evacuated.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue crews along with Fire Prevention Bureau officials also responded to the scene.

Clark County Fire said the Rio had to relocate some guest for the night because they’re having trouble restoring power to certain floors above the 22nd floor.
