CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Owners of more than a dozen vehicles in Carson City were victims of vandals armed with eggs over the weekend, including the longtime sheriff.
Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong says dispatch had at least 17 reports of cars and trucks being egged Saturday night on the town’s northeast side. He says his official sheriff’s truck and his Mustang were among those left with paint damage.
Furlong told the Nevada Appeal he’s guessing the offenders are “not bad kids.” He says they were probably “out doing what kids do, not realizing the damage they cause.”
Furlong says the eggs are hard enough to create a “spider crack” in the paint’s clear coat shell. He says the cracks cannot be patched so he’ll be forced to get the entire hood repainted.
