According to Metro Police, Las Vegas Fire officials have deemed the unknown chemicals that were in a box truck that crashed as safe.
The crash happened Tuesday at 8:35 a.m. near West Cheyenne Avenue & North Grand Canyon Drive in the northwest valley. Metro Police said the box truck turned on its side.
Police say they opened the truck and found unknown chemicals inside. Fuel from the truck did spill onto the roadway.
The fire department and an armored truck was called to the scene to help in the investigation and clean-up.
A complex near the accident was evacuated as a precaution.
Cheyenne was closed in both directions between Metro Academy Way and Fort Apache for hours, but it reopened early Tuesday evening around 4:18 p.m.
