Bar featured in TV show gutted by fire

A northeast Las Vegas bar that was recently renovated for the show Bar Rescue was in an early morning fire.

The fire at Nellis and Bonanza was spotted around 4 a.m. by a passing Metro officer who noticed smoke coming from the strip mall.  By the time firefighters arrived, the fire was raging inside the business.

“It appears the fire had been burning for quite a while on the inside,” said Las Vegas Fire and Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski.  “The inside of the lounge was gutted.

Szymanski said the fire also damaged a neighboring Thai restaurant and a dentist office.  Damage is estimated at $500,000.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation and no one was injured.

The Regan Lounge was remodeled in February and featured in a July episode of Spike’s Bar Rescue.  The bar was called Jack’s Place before the renovation.
