Police have arrested one of four suspects in a home burglary in the northwest valley. An alert neighbor captured the burglary on a video that went viral online.
Police say Arron Lair is one of four suspects accused of burglarizing the home near Lake Mead Boulevard and Rampart Boulevard.
A woman named Margaret owns the home. She says she is glad one person has been caught, but still hopes to feel safe in her home.
“We’re glad that somebody has been caught, but at the same time, it doesn’t change the fact that someone busted our door down. That never goes away,” she said.
The video of the four suspects appearing to leave the home in a haste has been seen more than 3 million times online.
Margaret says she was confident police would track down the suspects because of how quickly the video spread.
Margaret’s neighbor Brett McCann confronted the suspects after they tripped an alarm system inside the house.
He says he is glad to help keep trouble out of his community.
“We don’t need that type of person that invades our privacy and security and our homes,” he said. “It’s really an invasion on your privacy. So, hopefully, they got the right guy, and, hopefully, it leads to all four of them.”
McCann says it was a strange and very stressful situation, but felt he had to take action to scare the intruders.
The video shows the four men took off quickly once McCann approached them. Police recommend, however, that citizens do not confront potentially dangerous suspects.
Police have not yet released a picture of Lair. The other three suspects remain at large.
