Metro Police arrested four people accused of robbing taxicab drivers in the south and northwestern parts of the valley.
According to Metro, on March 8, at approximately 2:40 p.m., patrol officers were called to the 9500 block of West Maule Avenue to investigate a report of a robbery to a taxicab driver. The victim told officers after he picked up several passengers near South Las Vegas Boulevard, he was instructed to drive to an apartment complex in the area of South Fort Apache Road and West Sunset Road.
Metro said when the taxicab driver dropped the suspects off at the complex located in the 9500 block of West Maule Avenue, they showed a gun and demanded the victim’s money and property.
Later that same day at approximately 4:54 p.m., Metro Police officers were called to the 5800 block of Sky Pointe Drive to investigate multiple reports of gunshots heard in the area. When officers arrived at the scene, they learned the gunshots were related to another robbery of a taxicab driver. Police said it happened 9500 block of West Maule Avenue, which is the same complex from the robbery that happened earlier.
Metro said that victim told police that he had picked up several passengers from the apartment complex and driven them to the 5800 block of Sky Pointe Drive, and much like the first incident, the suspect’s pulled out a gun and demanded the driver’s money and property.
However, this time, the suspects fired the gun at his vehicle, striking it multiple times as he left the scene.
At approximately 9:07 p.m. Metro Police detectives took 23-year-old Mark Hagerman and 32-year-old Linda Smith into custody in connection with an incident that occurred outside of a business located in the 5700
block of Sky Pointe Drive.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified 29-year-old Tyreau Duboe and 19-year-old Kalie Fechner as the two outstanding suspects.
Duboe and Fechner were found later that night in the 700 block of East Twain Avenue where they
were taken into custody.
All four suspects were transported to the Clark County Detention Center, where they were booked on the following charges:
- Robbery with a deadly weapon (2 counts)
- Conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon (2 counts)
- Assault on a protected person with a deadly weapon (2 counts)
- Discharging firearm where persons can be endangered
- Discharging firearm into occupied vehicle
