Police detectives in Henderson arrested a third suspect in the death of 17-year-old Matthew Minkler. Henderson Police said the teen was arrested in the area of Pecos and Warm Springs roads just before midnight Wednesday night.
Minkler’s body was found in an abandoned home Friday night. An arrest report released Wednesday said the other teen suspects told officers Minkler was shot during a game of “Russian Roulette.”
Kody Harlan, 17, and Jaiden Caruso, 16, were arrested in connection with the killing of Minkler on Friday, June 8. Both have been certified as adults in this case.
On Thursday, the Caruso and Harlan appeared before a judge, but bail was not set.
Caruso is facing a charge of murder with use of a deadly weapon and Harlan is facing a charge of accessory to murder with use of a deadly weapon. Both are facing charges of robbery and destroying evidence.
At this time, it’s not clear the role the newest teen arrested played in Minkler’s death or the exact charges the teen will face, but Henderson Police did say the charges would be along the lines of damaging and destroying evidence, along with accessory to murder.
The teen’s name is not being released at this time.
Henderson Police Detectives say they are still looking to talk to more witnesses and persons of interest.
