Police in Las Vegas say two children remain hospitalized and a driver is jailed on felony hit-and-run charges after a two-car crash sent a vehicle onto a sidewalk where it struck five people.

Officer Michael Rodriguez said Monday a 6-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy were taken to University Medical Center in critical condition after the crash about 7 p.m. Saturday at Jones and Lake Mead boulevards.

Police say 50-year-old Diego Morales-Aquino left the scene driving a Honda Accord, but was arrested a short time later.

A 7-year-old boy and two adult women, ages 64 and 39, were also hit on the sidewalk. Police say they were treated for less serious injuries.

A 19-year-old driver of a Nissan Altima and his 18-year-old passenger were also treated for minor injuries.
