LAS VEGAS – As the 6-month anniversary of the #1October shooting approaches, 8NewsNow has reached out to a country band from southern California that wrote a song to honor the survivors and first responders of the incident.
A guitarist from the band Pickleback Shine was at the Route 91 Harvest Festival along with his wife. They were there enjoying the final night of the festival along with more than 20,000 other country music fans when tragedy struck.
Just like everyone there, and the rest of Las Vegas, the guitarist, John Duden, and his wife, Tracey, had their worlds turned upside down by the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.
When they got back home, the rest of the band wanted to help them recover, and that was the genesis for the song, “When The Morning Comes.”
John, Tracey and a few other members of Pickleback Shine will be on our Good Day show around 6:20am Monday, April 2nd.
They want to share their story in hopes of helping anyone affected by #1October.
