1 killed in downtown shooting, Metro says


Metro Police investigated a deadly shooting Friday in downtown Las Vegas.

It happened around 1 p.m. in the 2100 block of Sunrise Ave near Fremont Street and Eastern Avenue.

According to Metro, when officers arrived at the scene, they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Metro said the victim, a Hispanic man in his 30s, has known gang affiliations, but they haven’t said whether or not it was connected to the crime.

A woman is being held by police for questioning.  At this time, officers, are unsure of her relationship with the victim, and whether or not she’s connected to the crime.

Officers said weapons were also found at the scene.  Metro issued a warrant to get into the apartment where the victim was said to have been.
