UPDATE: The Clark County Coroner’s office has identified Jesus Alberto Martinez Jr., as the man who was killed in a northwest valley shooting on Thursday morning. Martinez died due to a gunshot wound to the head, according to the coroner.
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro police are investigating an early Thursday morning homicide in the northwest valley.
According to police, the incident happened just after 5:30 a.m. at the 600 block of Yale Street near Decatur Boulevard and Washington Avenue.
The arriving officers found a male lying in the middle of the street suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical personnel responded and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene, according to police.
The victim was visiting someone who lived in the area when the suspect approached him outside of a residence. The two got into an argument before the suspect pulled out a gun and allegedly shot and killed the victim, police said.
In a Friday news release, police say the suspect fled on foot prior to their arrival.
