Heather Mills

Heather joined the 8 News Now team in Aug. 2021 and has called the Las Vegas valley her home since 2016. Heather is an Emmy-nominated anchor and reporter; her career has allowed her to cover a wide range of breaking news, human interest, and entertainment stories, including red carpet events. She has also helped drivers navigate their morning rush-hour commute with traffic reports.

Heather’s passion for news started as a toddler dancing to the opening music at the start of the nightly news watching her dad on TV. Heather’s father retired in 2020 from the CBS station in Los Angeles, but he has been the inspiration behind her decision to follow in his footsteps.

Shortly after graduating from the University of San Diego, Heather launched her journalism career as a writer for the CBS affiliate station in San Diego and kept viewers informed in Wichita Falls, Albuquerque, Denver, and Las Vegas.

Heather is an adventurer at heart. You can usually find her hiking in the mountains, paddle-boarding Lake Mead, and traveling Central America, all the while rooting for the Golden Knights and the Dodgers. You can also catch her around the valley with her husband and their rescue dog Napoleon. For all the fun, check out her Instagram @NewsieHeather and make sure you say “hi” if you see her around town.
