So many outstanding kids, not babies, are available for adoption these days, including our candidate this week: Harmoni -- a 10-year-old with a gorgeous smile.
It's hard to believe that a young girl this adorable has been passed around from foster home to foster home without being adopted at some point, but we hope that will stop here. Harmoni is ready for some consistency in her life.
"And so a family that would best fit Harmoni is going to definitely have to provide structure, but reassurance that she's not going anywhere else, because her biggest problem is feeling like no one wants her -- no one loves her," says Rich Mills of the County Division of Family Services.
When you ask her, though, Harmoni will tell you she loves, "Basketball or science!"
Actually, both appeal to her and also cheerleading. She's a friendly kid with a big heart.
"Harmoni, very loving -- very, very loving. She loves basketball, she loves baseball, she loves cheerleading, she's just a very loving energetic girl," adds Rich.
Still, the thing she needs most is the steady, consistent stability of a forever home, the structure she needs to thrive.
"Right now, Harmoni needs to be number one. She needs to have someone that is definitely going to provide that attention that she needs," says Rich.
Harmoni enjoys helping out in the home and likes to cook. If she could be part of your family, call the local office of the Adoption Exchange right now at 436-6335.
